Anthem to Re-Brand as Elevance Health

In a March 10 press release, Anthem announced that the company will be changing its name to Elevance Health, Inc. in an effort “to better reflect the company’s business and its bold purpose of improving the health of humanity.” The name change, which is subject to shareholder approval, “underscores the company’s commitment to elevating whole health and advancing health beyond healthcare.”

Reminder: Low-Income Individuals Can Enroll Anytime

Healthcare.gov recently sent an email to registered brokers to let them know that “The American Rescue Plan (ARP) created more opportunities for lower-income consumers to access Marketplace health care coverage, including a new Special Enrollment Period for consumers with income less than or equal to 150 Percent of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL).” It’s a good reminder for agents who are looking for something to do now that the extended open enrollment period is over.

Free COVID Tests Now Available

The federal government recently announced two programs that will help people with the cost of at-home COVID-19 test kits. One program allows Americans to request up to four free tests from the federal government. The second allows people to be reimbursed for the cost of over-the-counter COVID tests by their insurers (up to $12 per test).
